Hackney's Mayor visits Gayhurst
Find out about our special visitors who came to school at the end of Walk to School Week......
The Mayor of Hackney, Philip Glanville visited the school at the start of the day on Friday 21st May, to celebrate Walk to School Week and the impact School Streets schemes have on road safety and in supporting families to be able to safely walk, scoot & cycle to and from school. Mayor Glanville was joined by Deputy Mayor Anntoinette Bramble, Will Norman, Mayor of London's Walking & Cycling Commissioner and Councillor Mete Coban, Cabinet Member for Transport and Public Realm. They met some Gayhurst children at the school gates and talked to them about how they travel to school and their chosen ways to travel sustainably. The children talked confidently about the impact walking and cycling can have on reducing the levels of pollution in London. Well done!
