Supporting Your Child
There are two things you must do to help your child:
- Get your child to school on time
- Make sure that your child attends school every day
You must report your child’s absence, every day that they miss school, to the School Office.
You can also support your child by:
- making sure that your child understands the School Rules
- keeping in regular contact with your child’s teacher: attending Open Evening every term; if necessary talk to your child’s teacher after school or make an appointment to see them
- ensuring that the school has up-to-date contact details for you
- talking with your child about their school day
- reading regularly with your child – this is the best way to improve their literacy skills
- encouraging your child to talk to an adult at school if they have difficulty with another child
- ensuring your child is appropriately dressed for school
- ensuring your child goes to bed in good time, so they are ready for learning the next day
- sending in P.E and swimming kits on the correct days
Parents can protect the health and safety of all our children by not:
- smoking on the school premises
- parking on the yellow lines outside school
- bringing dogs into the playground
- getting involved in an incident in the playground – please inform a member of staff instead
